Bipolar disorder is a brain disorder where people will show an uncommon change in mood, performance and the ability in carrying daily tasks. Basically, there are four types of bipolar disorder.in all case of Bipolar disorder the patient show changes in mood, energy, and activity levels. There are four types of bipolar disorders.

  • Bipolar I (bipolar disorder illnesses)

 It is demarcated by manic episodes which the last minimum of 7 days, or through manic symptoms which are so severe that the patient requires instant hospital care. In this situation generally, depressive events occur as well.  These Episodes of depression with mixed types are also possible that is depression and manic symptoms.

  • Bipolar II(bipolar disorder illnesses)

This is defined by a pattern of depressive events and hypomanic episodes, but not as manic episodes as described in Bipolar I.

  • Cyclothymic (or cyclothymia) (bipolar disorder illnesses)

Bipolar of this type is defined by many stages of hypomanic symptoms as well as numerous periods of depressive symptoms. It could last for at least 2 years.

  • Other Quantified and Unquantified Bipolar disorder and Associated Disorders (bipolar disorder illnesses)

 This type of disorder does not match with earlier three types as listed above.

 Symptoms (bipolar disorder illnesses)

In some cases, the symptoms of some bipolar disorder are similar to that of other diseases. This makes difficult to diagnose. Many people may have bipolar disorder together with another disease like anxiety disorder, substance abuse, or an eating disorder. bipolar disorder patients could have a thyroid, migraine headaches, heart disease, diabetes.

Psychosis:

people with severe episodes of mania or depression also have the symptom of psychotic-like hallucinations or delusions. The symptoms of psychotic matches very likely with the person’s extreme mood. like

  • People with psychotic symptoms in a manic episode could believe she is very popular, rich and very powerful. And people with psychotic symptoms in a depressive event may consider he is ruined and penniless or has committed a crime. So sometimes its symptoms resemble with schizophrenia

Anxiety and ADHD:

 Anxiety disorders and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are frequently analyzed among people with bipolar disorder.

Substance Abuse: 

bipolar disorder people misuse alcohol or drugs, may have relationship problems, or execute poorly in school or at work. The Family, friends, and people may not recognize his or her this problem of a major mental illness such as bipolar disorder.


Risk Factors (bipolar disorder illnesses)

There are many causes of bipolar disorders hence several factors increases illness and the risk. Scientists have done research in the reason bipolar disorder some of them are as follows.  

Brain Structure and Functioning:  A person brain with bipolar disorder may vary from the brains of a healthy person or a person with other mental disorders. Knowing more about these differences, together with different information from genetic studies supports scientists to understand bipolar disorder better and helps to select the proper types of treatment which will be most effective.

Genetics: In some study, it is advised that people with certain genes may develop bipolar disorder than others. However, besides genes, other factors may also create a risk factor for bipolar disorder. Some   Studies in twins have shown that, if one twin develops bipolar disorder, it is not necessary that other the other twin also always develop the disorder, though identical twins share same genes.

Family History: Bipolar disorder has a tendency to run in families. A parent who has bipolar disorder, their children much likely to develop the illness compared to those parents who do not have a family history of the bipolar disorder. However, it does not happen always and in all cases.
